I met up with lovely friends Michael and Jo, who ferried me to the retreat they are building at Rydal, just a slab and newly planted trees and a dam ..but what a view.
Playing the role of roadie, I helped set up all the gear at the Rydal Pub for our afternoon Elvis concert where Michael and his mate Mike, veterans of Parkes Elvis Festivals rocked the pub all afternoon.
We’d planned this as a bit of a fundraiser for batyr and after sharing my Coo-ee Walk story I was very humbled by the support from Phil (the publican) and patrons.
Again batry and it’s purpose resonated with many locals.
Retiring to the Stationmaster’s Cottage, we enjoyed a coal fire and the sounds of freight and passenger trains throughout the night. Fantastic!
