Hilarity For Charity 2015: Where to watch James Franco's Bar Mitzvah live

Hilarity for Charity, a movement run under the leadership of Seth Rogen and his wife Lauren Miller, will celebrate its fourth anniversary this year, and it will be marked with James Franco's Bar Mitzvah. The annual fundraiser will feature performances by popular celebrities like Paul Rudd, Bruno Mars, Tenacious D, Patton Oswalt, Aziz Ansari, Judd Apatow, The Backstreet Boys, Samuel L Jackson, Kevin Hart, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Silverman and "Weird Al" Yankovic.

The show hopes to raise awareness regarding Alzheimer's disease and inspire many to donate for the Alzheimer's Association. The couple started the trend of using comedy for the sake of charity, after the disease affected Miller's mother.

Why Jack Dorsey gave a huge portion of square to a charity

The nonprofit’s first focus will be Ferguson, Missouri -- a hotbed of tensions over racial injustice located just outside St. Louis, Dorsey’s hometown.

Volkswagen and the failure of corporate social responsibility

The Volkswagen case represents above all an absolute failure in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The company deliberately set out to design a means to circumvent emissions control—a stratagem known at the highest levels—with the aim of giving the company an unfair advantage over its competitors that made it the world’s number one car maker, in large part on the basis of its environmentally friendly; meanwhile it was poisoning the planet.

This ethical standards, which has led to the resignation, makes one thing absolutely clear: the company’s CSR department must have known what was going on.

Politicians, lend us your ears

Our democracy, like that of many other Western democracies, has become dysfunctional at the very time of unparalleled threats to the wellbeing of our species. Long-term human survival depends upon us nurturing and sharing the earth with the ecosystems and biodiversity that provide us with the wherewithal to live.

Well-known Australian entrepreneur Dick Smith put it succinctly recently, when he wrote: "The problem in Australia and the rest of the world is that the present world economic system is not sustainable. Anyone with any brains knows this, however most are not game to admit it. We need to live in balance with our environment".
