Paris residents offer to open their doors to stranded strangers amid attacks

In the wake of a series of attacks that have left at least 120 people dead in Paris on Friday, some turned to social media to open their homes to those who have been stranded in the city.

The shootings, explosions and hostage situation in six attacks led to a state of emergency in France, as police urged people to stay indoors.

For those stuck in different parts of the city, strangers offered to open their homes to anyone stranded by posting on Twitter with a hashtag, #portouverte, which translates to "Open Door."

Duran Duran to donate proceeds from Eagles of Death Metal cover to Paris attacks relief

Proceeds from Eagles of Death Metal's cover of 'Save A Prayer' will go to charity, Duran Duran confirm. Duran Duran’s have pledged to donate all money from the Eagles of Death Metal’s “Save a Prayer” to charity following an online campaign to get the song to number one in the wake of the tragic Paris attacks.
